The scripture states that we are to be equipped for our daily walk of faith. As we study a word each week, we will examine it using the dictionary, Hebrew or Greek concordance and at least two translations.
The Word for Today
1. strict or thorough in the performance of duty: a faithful worker.
2. true to one's word, promises, vows, etc.
3. steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant: faithful friends.
4. reliable, trusted, or believed.
Deu 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD (Jehovah) thy God (Elohim), he is God (Elohim), the faithful God (El Aman), which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Hebrew definition of Faithful
FAITHFUL - H539. aman, aw-man'; a prim. root; prop. to build up or support; to foster as a parent or nurse; fig. to render (or be) firm or faithful, to trust or believe, to be permanent or quiet; mor. to be true or certain; once (Isa. 30 : 21; by interch. for H541) to go to the right hand:--hence assurance, believe, bring up, establish, + fail, be faithful (of long continuance, stedfast, sure, surely, trusty, verified), nurse, (-ing father), (put), trust, turn to the right.
God is a faithful God and worthy to be praised. We can always count on God to be true to His word.
